Bridge to Summer 2019 Recap

How do you navigate from here to there?

Bridge to Summer, BridgeBuilders Kids’ summer program, provided over 120 students an opportunity to spend their summer days going places! Field Trip Fridays led them on adventures to literal places all over the DFW metroplex, such as the Perot Museum, the Dallas Zoo, and AT&T Stadium.

Throughout the rest of the week, Bridge to Summer staff led students on adventures through recreational activities, arts and crafts, computer programs, literature based problem solving, and over twenty hours of Bible study including life application, scripture memory and the special names of God along with their unique meanings.

Luke 2:52 proclaims, “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Bridge to Summer was designed to engage students on such a journey. Jyron Jackson explained, “BridgeBuilders summer program has taught me more about God than I ever knew before.” Equipping Jyron and his peers with truth and witnessing them move from “here to there” on their spiritual journey was the greatest adventure of all!

A special thanks to our supporters who made Bridge to Summer a reality through your time and generous gifts. Providing a safe and cool space to escape the summertime heat is a gift for the children of Bonton. Derrick Jones remarked, “I don’t know what I would be doing if it weren’t for BridgeBuilders summer program.”

You can be part of the journey too! Contact Tracy Lindsey ( or Sheldon Norred ( to partner with us as we continue ministry to these children and families through BridgeBuilders After-School Program.
