Summer is for Kamp

“Summer Camp” can bring to mind a variety of sights, sounds, and memories. Forty-five Bonton students and six adult mentors spent a week in July attending Kids Across America (KAA) camp in Branson, Missouri, making memories and marking milestones in their spiritual journey.

KAA’s vision to transform urban youth to impact their communities for Christ came to life as multiple campers accepted Christ as their Savior for the first time and many others rededicated their lives. The truth of John 15:4 was demonstrated throughout the week as students were engaging the word of God and sharing it with one another. “We don’t deserve anything in this world and through God’s grace he sent his Son down that we may have life more abundantly,” remarked camper Eric Thomas.

Meaningful time spent in God’s creation with Christian leaders and friends gave students new perspectives, equipping them with biblical truths and empowering them to return home walking closer to Christ.

Special thanks to Lynn Stroud and Clifton Reese for their leadership and to Kids Across America for their mission to provide camp opportunities for urban students. BridgeBuilders’ Kids Team is planning a Youth Bible Study encouraging students to continue what God sparked in their hearts at camp.
