Our students’ needs are many as they grow into healthy and happy adults. The daily meals, homework assistance, literacy support, development in spiritual and life skills, and social and emotional learning that they receive in our program provides for these key needs in partnership with their parents.

These needs can be met by a monthly donation of $52, which is about $1.75 a day!

Every kid deserves a buddy. The needs you’ll be meeting are important to the way these kids will grow. Would you like to be a buddy to our kids in South Dallas?

FAQ

What does my donation support?

The short answer is Student Programming! The longer answer is food, school assistance, and lots of support for student development in social skills and emotional learning. We’d love to give you the chance to witness all this yourself by volunteering with our students!

Can I become a BridgeBuddy if I donate less than $52 a month?

BridgeBuddies is an initiative built around a $52 per month need. About $1.75 a day, this specific amount directly benefits each unique child in our Student Program by providing access to our program and resources.

However, any donation can support our neighbors through our expansive community programs, and monthly commitments of any amount are a blessing to the kids we serve. We are deeply thankful for your donation of any amount.

Can I donate more than $52 a month?

Absolutely! If you’re called to support more kids, $104 supports two students, $156 supports three students, and $208 supports four students a month. Together, we can make sure each child has Buddies supporting them!

Nelson’s Story

As a kid, I got into trouble and eventually expelled from school. I was angry at my authority figures, and that grew into disrespect and aggression which led to consequences and living a life I didn’t like. My life was painful, and I didn’t have the support I needed to make a change.

At 15, I met my buddy- a mentor that would go on to change my life and help me graduate through listening, providing structure, and sticking around through the hard stuff.

Every kid deserves a buddy. Someone that is for them- someone who cares.

BridgeBuilders provides that support to each student we engage in our programming. More than just friendship- they’re met with meals, homework and literacy help, lots of fun, and a staff that can be friends through the hard stuff.

This work is needed, and we’re here to be their buddies. We’d love to show the next generation of students how many people support them, and being their buddy will make a difference to each one of these kids.

My buddies changed my life. You can be that kind of buddy too!
